Abstract: Relative to freshly-applied superphosphate (FSP), the residual value of superphosphate declined by about 60 per cent between the first and second crop, and by a further 25 per cent by the fourth crop. For crop 3, the residual value of superphosphate varied depending on the legume species, being about 8 per cent as affective as FSP for serradella, 30 per cent for medic, and 53 per cent for clover. For crop 1, rock phosphate was about 4 per cent as effective as superphosphate for serradella, 11 per cent f
