Abstract: Protection plan developed for the avian industries in Western Australia based on detailed strategic assessments of the threats facing the avian industries from exotic and endemic disease, as well as the issues surrounding carcase disposal during a disease outbreak; biosecurity; food safety and chemical residues in poultry products. The avian industries covered in the plan include the poultry meat and egg industries, fancy poultry industry, the emu and ostrich industries, the racing pigeon industry and avi lture industry.
