Two new subterranean clover cultivars have been released from this project, with a third soon to be released. York is a hard-seeded alternative cultivar to Seaton Park better able to persist in pasture/crop rotations. Riverina is a waterlogging tolerant cultivar with resistance to Phytophthora clandestina and clover scorch. SE003 has also been selected as a new hard-seeded early maturing cultivar able to persist in crop rotations. Breeder's seed of SE003 is being produced in 1998. Five other cohorts of ma een collected from the best plots at 16 selection nurseries for further development. These are now ready for field evaluation.
