Doublegee control in lupins was studied over three years at three sites by growing lupins in a 1:1 rotation with cereals. Contrary to commercial experience it was found that the seeding practice most widely used by lupin growers in 1990 very successfully controlled doublegee and that only occasionally was any additional benefit derived from topping up with simazine.
