Abstract: (En)
Possible effects of early grazing on the persistence of subclover strains differing in seedling height were examined in mini swards. Yarloop and Trikkala were defoliated prior to the emergence of the second trifoliate leaf, and the subsequent regrowth measured. From days 4 to 14 from emergence, there was a marked difference in seedling height between cultivars with the cotyledons, unifoliates and trifoliates of Yarloop taller than for Trikkala. A simulated grazing height of either 10 or 12 mm, results
